    Jun 9, 2009 I read something about using a different notation from
    var z=new Array(1,2,3,4) to
    var z=[1,2,3,4]

    Using UE http://www.ultraedit.com/support/tutorials_power_tips/ultraedit/regular_expressions.html
    Search/Replace:
    new Array(^(*^))
    [^1]

    shortenz your codez automatically.

    Buy Ultraedit & UltraCompare Bundle

    Full object notation
    javascript:var testts={’key1′:’value1′,’key2′:2,’key3′:3,’key4′:’four’};alert(testts.key3);

    24 items replaced… If you ever want to search and replace to reduce array code or other types of code, don’t waste time doing it manually, I definitely recommend using a fast approach to solving consistent problems versus wasting human labor manually entering each option. Especially considering the column mode editing powers, integrated copy path file name/quick open from location (ctrl q) features, tabs of open files, and the list of open files, along with function list (f8), you can edit just about anything and everything all at once without ever having to close anything. HEX find and replace hexadecimal data in binary files. Auto recovery after system crash including the entire editing session. Fully configurable toolbars and blazing speed, you’d have to be crazy to edit in anything else.

    Does anyone know how to change the color of rel-nofollow links with a “CSS”? Well you do now!
    Seeing No Follow Links Also a great userscript idea. Display No Follow Links

    getElementById versus XPath not necessarily definitive but interesting graphs. Get element by ID is tons faster than some methods, and always marginally faster in these tests.

    I ran my own test on getElementsByTagName(”TEXTAREA”) versues “.//textarea” and XPath won that one by about .0003 s on 10 attempts at a single text area, and .0005 on 4 text areas, so it definitely depends which dom methods you are using.

    Here is another good example: getElementsByClassName Speed Comparison including the new native function!

    I can’t express my disdain for windows 7 (beta) in words. It keeps deleting all the .JS files from my profile every time it restores my system after every expletive reboot it never comes back up and constantly eats all my JS files when it restores. Also any .AS files are total toast! BAT files deleted. Can anyone explain why both these file types would be targeted and where they would end up? I wish quarantined somewhere. It says it won’t mess with files in my profile, but these are in My Documents and on the Desktop (because I made backups I was so sick of loosing them, and then it ate my backup!)… not only in AppData where scripts are usually stored. Totally unfair waste of time! Its somewhat usable when its been stable but the system restore kills. The one neat feature I found is shaking a window minimizes all other windows.

    It’s not like you can just click your heels together and imagine yourself into another universe of abundance when the reality of the human impaction fights against that. There can be abundance but it cannot be forced. You can not squeeze every last drop your way to abundance…. it is counter intuitive… yet you must waste nothing that has a greater purpose.

    Updated VidzBigger with a new feature that allows for even larger video. I like to imagine it like some sort of bubble of increased video gravity. Its still kind of beta, but its enabled by default for some. If you scroll up or down the page will return to the usual layout. There are 16 total pixels defined by vbfoldRadius in source, around the initial scroll point that engage this feature. To skip it scroll past quickly. The bubble is either on or off, but there is more work to be done. Version 0.046 Available on the Downloads page <^ The feature is called Auto Snap Fullscreen on Scroll under Layout preferences

    In the future I imagine I will require a pause during scrolling to engage the feature. Also possibly an adjustable bubble size, along with the idea of having some sort of bubble indicator where the scroll should go to engage it show up to make it easier to use.

    When you are using VidzBigger, if you want to scroll while the mouse is over the video, simply enable double click fullscreen under JSAPI in preferences or disable the JSAPI and use the alternate player. This sets the flash mode to transparent which also slows down everything but its nice on a powerful system.

    This is quite cool. YouCube (flash)

    You can submit 6 YouTube URLs and make your own, or just pick one of the user submitted ones. The best part is that the audio plays up to 3 streams at a time and fades and blends based on which side is facing you the most as you drag. Does not seem to pan left to right, but that’s not a big deal. I also wish you could rotate on any axis like in space, fun to spin and remix videos. Plus it seems that cubes are linkable! I wonder if anyone has saved ones where the BPM matches for each, or if there is any synchronization enforcement, if the ones in the background play, ect…

    Film “Home” on Youtube - Full Length Movie about the Planet Earth and the future of life itself.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU

    I’m not sure how long it will be available but its a pretty incredible movie to go into such clear and simple detail about all the intricate inter-relations between processes on earth and how those relationships go all the way back to the earliest life forms, our ancestors which still live and love today through us and their more direct descendants.

    Fun Facts To Check Out (not all in the movie)

    • All of the earths crust was formerly living which captured the carbon from the atmosphere and trapped it in the crust.  Earth is layers upon layers of micro life forms who still live today through us by nourishing life from plants and beyond.
    • If the carbon had not been captured from the atmosphere by these life forms we could not exist today.
    • Blue Green Algae was more likely than not your great^greatest grandmother/father.
    • What you did in a past life as a Blue Green Algae or the first insect or spider is what brings you the life you have today, the pinnacles of what you were able to achieve as more simple forms lived on to more complex forms and later you. You are as old as life itself but not as experienced.
    • Our ancestors are both great and small but even the tiniest lifeforms are driven by the same basic things that drive you, and find solace in the same things as you, albeit they are arguably more simple and pure.
    • Humans are a horrible menace whose desire for their lives to be simpler and easier have failed to see outside of their easy bubbles to the larger effects of their boring controlled and simplified existences as subservient consumers to people who do not have the foresight deserve support.
    • Power is seen by humans as a mechanical or technical force, when real power is in the tiny insect who innovated themselves into something new.  You can not force innovation to occur, you must want it on every level, and it is hardship and awareness of imperfection that drives innovation most of all.
    • True innovation is seeing outside of the box of the system of what is taken as the most technically advanced solution, and to come up with a completely different solution, devoid of all the limitations of the current oil dependent system which the rich and powerful would love more than anything to keep us locked into, happily complacent and non innovative in mood.
    • Our current agricultural system is more of a drain on the earth than can be sustained.  This is largely because biological food type waste that humans produce is wasted and never makes it back to the field.  Instead they use synthetic petroleum based oil dependent fertilizers to support their genetically weak condition specific identical genetically modified corn and other anomalies that can survive against the specific chemicals they are coated with, which they then feed us either directly or indirectly through animals, which do not inherit any exotic or innovative traits.
    • All of this to support more human population on earth than earth was ever designed to support or sustain.  Oil is used to mechanistically force more out of nature than the environment on earth can support.
    • Oil itself is a former life from whose grave is disrespected and drained for the fool-hearty non-respectful of the future of life on earth gains of the rich few.
    • Oil is a desecrated grave that no one can claim ownership over… to purchase oil you are merely paying for them to transport it because you can not own oil itself, merely contain it, and burn it wasting 80 percent or more of the energy that life has stored into the substance.
    • Modern humans are not technically advanced enough yet to actually make the most of oil.  By the time we are advanced enough to use it with 100% efficiency on some task that would benefit life itself (not just humans) to truly respect the life forms that died to go into the oil, the oil will more likely than not be gone.
    • Any task that oil is used for that the life forms who died to go into the oil would not themselves choose to do with their own lives is just as disrespectful as flying planes into the twin towers, which was more likely than not a plot derived by those who wanted to gain more influence over oil overseas.
    • Using fossil water and other subterranean aquifers to sustain an impossibly huge and impossibly unnatural amount of Human life on this planet that is only possible through Oil is almost as bad as wasting oil if not worse for the future of life.  The system will collapse on itself for good reason, because it should not exist in the first place!  I must say if peoples lives are disrupted they should welcome the change.
    • Clinging to an impossible lifestyle will only serve to diminish your capacities to deal with the realities that lie in wait.

    I’m only 40 minutes in!  I did watch the first 20 minutes twice though.  If you find any other pertinent points.  Its getting increasingly disgusting I can’t wait to flesh out the list more.

    The worst thing is people have no idea how much earth means to them!  If they do not value earth, they do not value and respect earth, they do not value existence itself, and arguably should not exist at all!

    There is no way earth will survive without decreasing human population and returning to a more simple and healthy life style in tune with nature, where we can achieve our full potentials living healthily and happily in harmony.

    In the last century half f the worlds marshes were drained and their richness stolen or otherwise killed.  Trees themselves are being suffocated by human disruption and mismanagement of water and mismanagement of forest resources failing to allow time for proper regeneration between harvests and failing to maintain forest heath by removing diseased trees caused by these tough conditions before they can spread.  These removed trees themselves can serve as a valuable resource in many different ways!

    Fake systems that rely on pumping are not sustainable and unnatural, and dangerous because of the misunderstanding of what it takes to set up a sustainable natural system out of the humans forcing everything instead of learning from nature and respecting the system that is hundreds of thousands of years older than any human has ever had the time to observe and experience!

    If we were to ever manage to leave earth and try to exist in space, without the rich biological playground that is earth, we would be at a severe disadvantage in finding rare substances and cures to the new diseases that will emerge in outer space.

    Without access to the historic planet relic that nourished us in our infancy, we will lack knowledge about our history necessary to understand our place in the universe, and the beautiful inter relations that are possible between very radically different life forms.  Earth more than anything teaches us about the importance balance that can not be replicated synthetically in as deep or as meaningful of a way.

    Almost nothing is more important the connection to our roots and our past because these provide the best clues to what we can do today to advance beyond the mess that is the current state of the world.

    The most important thing is that earth is cared for more than human existence itself , not that we can’t play an important part in healing the earth if we start to manage our population growth.

    To loose or damage earth and to loose so many valuable species and life forms due to human influence and negligence would more likely than not leave us all extinct.  Our chances of surviving in space without millions of years of careful testing and respect of natural process are effectively zero.

    To exist in the future and not be able to come back to earth and feel what it is to truly be alive and part of a larger system would almost certainly doom our chances of solving this universe.  To think that all we need are people, and that if we only have each other we will be fine, was never true.

    All of the resources we need to solve these problems by increasing awareness about the problems is in the hands of only 2% of the population.

    The stupid people reproduce more than the smart ones?  The urge to survive is overcoming rational thought about the future.  People have kids and let them deal with the problems that lie in wait…

    As the system collapses, and food runs out, and wells dry up, chaos will ensue (this might not be in the movie).  Chaos should already ensue now!  A chaos driven to do one thing only and that is solve these problems before it gets so bad that society collapses and all the starving people take to arms and pull you and your family limb from limb so they can live just a few days longer than you.

    Oil will never sustain human population or life on earth.  Oil usage must be abandoned for cleaner alternatives that leave less impact and have more organic benefits.

    The more population increases the more oil we need and the faster we will be forced to come to terms with the problem.  Overpopulation MUST NOT be used as a tool to come to terms with the problem as it has been.

    The people who control most media networks fail completely to convey the danger that faces us because as long as we keep buying and splicing ourselves off the more money the corporate sponsors make.  The more people they can keep complacently trapped in the system the more money they will make, but the end result is you will be both abandoned by them and poor, and without any natural process to fall back on, extinct.   The only solace in this fact is the rich people who have done this to the planet will also be extinct!

    By 2030 1/4 of earths species will be threatened with extinction! (~1:03)  This figure does NOT do justice to the countless species we have already rendered extinct!  Species which if around today may provide the clues that we need to solve other problems we face, NOT that we need any more help solving diseases, as they may be the only hope to fix human imbalance on this planet.

    People must be stopped!  The Arrogance of Humanism (Galaxy Books) is a great book depicting this religious plague that spreads the false notion of human superiority or infallibility which are not true!  There is no way that this arrogance will serve us to live in harmony on earth or anywhere in the galaxy for that matter.  The use of technology to solve our problems is shortsighted and blind to the fact that our systems that we build today can not be sustained without constant human intervention and repair.  We are almost so distracted maintaining and replacing or earning money to replace our devices that we have failed to care and repair the earth.

    “The planet is an indivisible whole, and asset we share” (1:07) Action that does not account for the effects on the future of the larger whole that is all life on earth is criminal.  Every day you drive to the store and buy things you are facilitating these criminals to steal your future.

    The problem is not going to get resolved without severe human intervention to all of these problems but that intervention must be careful that it does not do more harm than good.  Simply dong better than today is not enough for tomorrow!  Every day we must innovate to advance beyond our current limitations or we will certainly meet an end.

    A one child limit per couple would only serve to reduce the population problem if life expectancy remained constant. (9 billion humans in the film) cia.gov (2008):

    6,706,993,152

    Given a fixed 80 year life span, and a one child each birth limit the population can be cut in half every 80 years… it would still take 1600 years to reduce the population to a more manageable and reasonable level.  This means we would have to kill people after 80 years though.  Plus by the time we even reach the first 80 years from today it will be too late, since the problems we face are coming to fruition within a few years at best.  The smartest minds in the world are killing themselves ( DFW) and the poorest are reproducing unstoppably facilitate by the greedy rich whose money does not prepare them for what we face.

    The future of earth if we continue as we are gong today will be scorched completely by the very sun that has gotten us this far today (”no one can predict”…).

    Cool facts start at about 1:16 like flash cards would be great to transcribe here if that’s allowable or someone has these!

    Military endeavors pollute as much as everything else in the world (guessing, but seriously consider this and all the levels and all the explosions and the efficiency of the engines that run the massive tools of war), while education does not have any harmful effects and gets less than 10% of the budget and exact figures are always better than guesses… if they are accurate.

    Clean energy alone will not save us, but its certainly a start!

    Well that’s as far as its buffered now, at 1:24 of 1:28.  View the Film Home on YouTube while you have the chance! Its available on BlueRay for those who want the best quality and will be available on DVD soon: Home [Blu-ray] and there is also a book available: Home (book)

    I will definitely be updating this post!  Anyone who would like to help or contribute will be much appreciated!

    This post relates to userscript pattern matching. @match @include @exclude and how they determine which page URLs VidzBigger runs on (even if its in an iframe) and when it does not.  http://vidzbigger.com mathes anywhere in the URL… so that something like the digg button which as

    ...digg.com/tools/ect?site=http://vidzbigger*

    still contains the URL even though its not at the beginning, should not be matched by VidzBigger and I’ll be finding some way to fix this for ALL iframes that load URLs of this nature in a coming update.  My gut was to just put the carrot at the beginning to match from the begging of the string, and amazingly enough it (does not) works (in greasemonkey) [but its no longer necessary see update].  So if you are getting extra VidzBigger Flags showing up in all the completely wrong places, all you need to do is update your includes to start with a carrot (^http) instead of (http).  This can be done under Manage User Scripts from the monkey itself or otherwise.  I’ll be including this in the script once I can confirm my suspicions that support for carrot in GM goes way back to FF2.  Luckily I found I’m not the only one with this question and as I expand to other platforms this may be a problem again:

    User script ‘URL Includes’ should not match query part of URL. Right now, the URL ‘Includes’ of a userscript are matched against the entire URL of the … http://forum.ie7pro.com/viewtopic.php?id=4184

    Unfortunately it won’t necessarily fix every last extra flag that shows up, but it will fix flags showing up in iframes that belong to the wrong domain!  Which is a big plus, and sorry for any inconvenience caused by having the flag show up in the wrong places sometimes :)  I appreciate that other people have included compatibility code in their scripts to hide the flag when its in the way, when I should have accounted for it all along.  Thanks for understanding!  If the domain match is correct than some other exclude may be necessary, or to make more specific includes, as usual please report any annoying interactions!

    I was trying and trying to find a way to detect if a particular “window” IS an iframe or NOT, just a simple Boolean test, no security risk of any kind, but just enough to know not to run VidzBigger since its in a iframe, would be an even better solution I’m curious to find.

    Oddly enough the carrot is not mentioned at all here as possible or allowed or even recommended… http://wiki.greasespot.net/Include_and_exclude_rules but its not necessary to bother them about it since they fixed it so that to reproduce this bug you need to add a * to the beginning of the include before the http

    Susceptibility Test: I can turn on the VidzBigger flag on any page right now by modifying the querystring: to include ?var=val&site=http://vidzbigger.com/

    UPDATE: Any matching that does not explicit start with a * should ONLY match from the beginning of the URL. A recent update to GreaseMonkey does just this!

    I gotta say that this http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2009/06/tony-la-russa-twitter.html is just about the stupidest lawsuit ever!  I don’t really understand why he thinks he is the first one to have their name taken on the internet.  His feelings were hurt, big deal.  It could have happened on any site, twitter is certainly not the responsible party here… accounts like these are everywhere from myspace to facebook.  Should someone who impersonates Jesus be sued by the church for hurting their feelings?  It is slightly malicious I guess but its not even close to obvious to anyone who doesn’t intimately know sports, but were any real damages done? Do the games get less viewers now? There is a PDF of the lawsuit here http://blogs.wsj.com/venturecapital/2009/06/04/la-russas-twitter-suit-brings-impersonation-policy-to-light/?mod=rss_WSJBlog. Are we seriously discussing feeling and hurtful messages being banned from the internet, the elimination of avatars, and the adoption of a singular unique online identifier that you can use to say all the hurtful things you want so long as you don’t pretend you are saying them about yourself?   I think the PDF itself looses the case because it says its a parody right on the page. I mean anyone who looked at that page it was probably instantly obvious that it wasn’t the real deal… Plus how many people looked at it?  I hope someone has a screen shot of the page so we can see how silly this all is… but they’ve already censored it… i mean that’s nice of them but really, first come first serve right when it comes to taking user names on a website, and you can’t always be the only Tony La Russa in the world.  What makes ME-ME is not my name, I’m sorry, but I give anyone who truly knows me the credit to recognize an impersonator on their own (or not) but I don’t feel the need to force correct the entire world that OH BY THE WAY I WASN’T MAKING FUN OF MYSELF ONLINE and I WAS ACTUALLY HURT BY TEXT ON THE INTERNET actually looks a LOT worse than anything it could have said.  If this is a publicity stunt I think its working… and this is a great example of a corporation enforcing censorship where legally I’m not sure they should have taken the site down at all, maybe they should be sued for that instead lol, instead of this singular way… censorship hurts everyone and impersonations only hurt one person… i mean all press is good press right?  Maybe that’s all this lawsuit is worth.

    Just so you know I updated VidzBigger today with a fix or anyone who likes the extended comments feature (up to 250 while watching the video) which fixes the comments being reversed back to the correct order by YouTube! This means VidzBigger is simpler now and does not have to reverse the feed after downloading it. Definitely good news, check it out on the Downloads page. The bug was reported thanks to http://www.youtube.com/deadcanadian5

    UPDATE: YouTube seems to have reversed back to the old way… so install the previous version!

    It goes without saying that the nutrition facts contain facts about whats nutritious in what you are eating, however they do little justice in revealing the complete contents of a product. They direct your attention at what to look at when examining a particular element for consume-ability and any time ones attention is directed its possible let alone likely that its being misdirected away from some horrible secret.

    The horrible secret is often only a glance away, albeit in the fine print, the ingredients, or that which is suppose to reveal the complete contents being mixed together to create your product. These ingredients however are not even in and of themselves revealing. Many ingredients list elements that are comprised of other inputs but since it stands as a product they simply list the product. Meanwhile any number of things could have gone into that product, be it pesticide sprays, growth hormones, animals that were fed genetically modified corn, and any number of pertinent facts about the ultimate constituents of the container, down to the single stray molecule that ends up in one in 10,000 should be available on every container. You shouldn’t be able to list “milk” as an ingredient without including all of the ingredients that went into the making of that cow, if the cow is made merely from corn and drugs, then what type of corn, and how was that corn raised, what was it sprayed with, how was it cleaned down to every soapy molecule that gets left behind.

    There should be no limit to the amount of detailed information available about every level and step in the process that ultimately constitutes something you are choosing toward creating yourself out of by consuming it. That they get away with keeping any details in the dark is evidence enough that the system that is making the rules is influenced by money, which is not something that has a place influencing a system that’s suppose to be designed to protect people from the worst enemy of all, which is a lack of information and limited time to make important decisions (that seem trivial but are not) about incomplete products, most all of which would be banned from the stores in any culture that was concerned about staying healthy on every level maintaining a strong sense of individuality and purpose to overcome the unjust tyranny that money and bottom lines bring us when we not only could have more, but deserve more, and could make more out of our lives by not being so easily lead, by which I mean mislead into believing that there are external systems of information where people pay to bring you that information that one can in all of eternity trust at face value, is in effect no.

    What we need are consumers with killer instincts, and the capacity to destroy products not on a whim, but with direct willful knowledge about the true nature of their opponents and their products, to spread the information necessary to remove injustice from the systems. They certainly aren’t gong to do it for us, and even if they try, it will never, ever, ever be good enough, because they operate in a world where things that can’t be paid for are impossible, a world that is not reality. People make rash decisions in supermarkets, pez stations, and retail chains that effect their entire fate and the future of the world without even realizing it. From poison leather to pancreatic cancer, what is it exactly that keeps the people from changing the system besides the notion that the system will only rape more if you help it get smarter, and people feel powerless to stop it. I’m for adopting a new system until its done, and then I’m for adopting the next, and resting on success doesn’t seem like an incentive worth living for. Stagnation of detail of labeling is death, and its more than just labeling, its standing up and admitting that we don’t know the long term effects of this stuff, and its been unfair for us to not disclose it up until now.

    Seeing them sweat and then do what you deserve is satisfaction enough, how come people need some dollar incentive in order to do something good for the world other than being so trampled down and poor that they aren’t even qualifying as self actualized human beings anymore. They are barely individuals, mere automatons operating on a level that’s been programed into them since they started learning the English language or their mom ate poorly labeled products while pregnant with them. Where are we as a culture when simple awareness of injustice is not enough to create the change that is the boycotting necessary to bring the companies that would rather us blindly buy away to their knees begging for the solution to their problems (even if its decapitation), which are ultimately how to do right by the consumer… except it only takes a few uninformed consumers to keep their machine turning, which keeps any outcry silent, because they have tricked enough of them that the gears will stay slick enough to find a way to once more put up false appearances just to get a sale for a product whose every corner was cut.

    Sustainability FactsIts not good for anyone to remain blissfully unaware of injustice, because this is exactly what they have people trapped into thinking they deserve all the time, even if they are being raped, that its okay so long as they don’t notice it. That we trust any words out of their mouths after all the crap that we have been fed to nourish the wallets of all the criminals out there is the essence of the problem, that we fail to suspend our disbelief about conspiracy on every level. That its all such a great sham that no one wants to spoil it, revealing the nature of things for what they really are is a business best left to artificial intelligence because it seems like people as consumers will never think for themselves and act as a singular fully actualized and aware consumer whose every sane demand must be met in order to operate at all in this reality. The rich keep getting rich and the poor keep robbing each other blind, and what stands for street smarts and common sense are enough to make you sick, but don’t because you are so use to it by now or so completely unsure of the truth that you don’t even spread one word, then that is the first enemy you must face. What word?

    Hulu Desktop Screenshot

    Hulu Desktop Screenshot

    I just took a look at Hulu Desktop. Its a flash application, so its speed is nothing special. When its in the background it doesn’t always play smoothly. Its kind of cool setup, I imagine its just a flash app for now to cut down on Mac+PC development time but without any hardware acceleration its not superior to the web interface. The one cool thing is that its pretty easy to navigate just with the keyboard. If your not running anything else then its a lot like turning your computer into a TV temporarily. Its not really superior to using the web browser version if you are running your web browser anyway. I took a look at all the resources in the program, it seems to be created directly from flash, no signs of mprojector anyway. Top right check out that it uses way more resources than firefox with 4 tabs one of them playing hulu. Seems like it uses more and more memory with each show that plays. Check out the great forced update dialog I found!

    Hulu Forced Update

    1 VERSIONINFO
    FILEVERSION 0,9,3,1
    PRODUCTVERSION 0,9,3,1
    FILEOS 0x4
    FILETYPE 0x1
    {
    BLOCK "StringFileInfo"
    {
    	BLOCK "040904e4"
    	{
    		VALUE "CompanyName", "Hulu LLC"
    		VALUE "FileDescription", "Hulu Desktop Host"
    		VALUE "FileVersion", "0.9.3.1"
    		VALUE "InternalName", "Host"

    		VALUE "ProductName", "Hulu Desktop"
    		VALUE "ProductVersion", "0.9.3.1"
    	}
